An honest divorce book, written while it was happening
Not a success story written years after it was over. An honest, practical account written during the divorce, by a man going through the same thing you are.
The whole book is free to read here — every chapter, no account, no paywall. The only time we ask for an email is if you want the PDF to keep.
Why this book
Most divorce books are written by people who got through it years ago. They look back from a safe distance and hand you a tidy list of lessons. That is not much use at two in the morning, when you are still in the middle of it and have to decide what to do tomorrow.
What helps more is someone going through it at the same time as you, telling you plainly: this is what actually worked, this is what only looked like help, this is the thing worth holding on to. This book was written during the divorce, in real time, not remembered years later.
It will not tell you to love yourself as if that were a switch you forgot to flip. It will not hand you a gratitude journal. It is for the man who still has to answer the lawyer's email today, walk his children to a door that is no longer his, and decide, alone, what happens next — before he feels ready, because the feeling is not coming and the deciding cannot wait.
The divorce was only the event. The thing that happened was that a man died.

The Field Kit
The interior parts of this book are for the two-in-the-morning silence. The Field Kit is for Monday morning. It is the part you can tear out and use: plain, practical, ordered — because I remember exactly how it felt to need an instruction and be handed a feeling instead.
